I mentioned in my last post that Keziah is really into school buses right now. Well she got quite the surprise treat today.
Today was the first day all week it wasn't raining so we took a little trip to the park to play and unfortunately discovered that an elementary school was taking a field trip. The entire park was overrun with 7-10 year olds. I knew the park would pretty much be a bust. But Keziah doesn't handle changes in plans very well so we went ahead and got out of the car to see if we could play for a bit. Although with every slide and piece of equipment covered with big kids, the only thing we could do was the baby swings. I did snap these adorable pictures.
Such a good big sister! She loves sharing her swing. And she is really good about holding on to him.
Well after the swings and a few failed attempts to go down the slides that big kids were climbing up, I noticed the school buses in the far parking lot, so I said, "hey Keziah, you want to go see a school bus up close." "Yeah!!!"with squeals of glee was her response. So off we went. She ran her fingers along the bus and giggled with glee. And insisted that I take her picture!
It gets better! So as we were about to leave, the bus driver who was sitting in the bus and I guess had been watching us, opened the door and asked Keziah if she would like to come up and see the inside of the bus. At first she was shy but when I told her I would go with her she got real excited. So she got to see the inside too! You would have thought I had taken her to Disney World. She talked about it all day! And even as I put her to bed tonight, she was still talking about the school bus and all the seats and how big it was.
So the park was not a bust after all. It was probably the best park visit ever! (at least in Keziah's eyes)
